A rare golden eagle has been spotted in Shelton, near Long Stratton, police say.
It comes after a five-year-old golden eagle called Stan went missing from the Hemingstone area in Suffolk on December 9, although this is not necessarily the same bird.
The police's Norfolk Rural and Wildlife Crime unit tweeted this afternoon (Wednesday, December 21) that the bird of prey, which is not thought to be dangerous, had been sighted.
It read: 'Golden Eagle spotted in Shelton. If seen call 101. Although not believed to be dangerous it is advised not to approach!'
Stan's owner, Kris Ford, is concerned about the bird's welfare as his family only moved to the area in September.
If you spot Stan call Suffolk police instead on 101, referencing CAD number 408 of December 9.
