Queen once famously sang 'I want to ride my bicycle, I want to ride it where I like.' Ironically, for the actual Queen's arrival to the University of East Anglia on Friday afternoon police have banned bikes from the Sainsbury Centre surrounding area.

In an email addressed to students, they are informed that any cycles left overnight will be removed by the police.

The message reads: 'There will be no bicycle parking at the hoops in front of the Sainsbury Centre. Any cycles left overnight on Thursday will be removed by the police.'

The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh visit the Sainsbury Centre on Friday to view a new major exhibit that celebrates the island nation of Fiji.

The decision to ban bikes coincides with a £1.5 million boost to encourage commuters to get on their bikes in Norwich and Great Yarmouth.
