John Rudrum, chairman of Belton with Browston Parish Council, died on February 17, after a 16 year battle with Motor Neurone Disease.
Mr Rudrum was born in Burgh Castle, but later moved to Belton, joining the parish council in 2001. He became chairman in 2011.
He was a member of the parish council in Burgh Castle and a trustee of Belton Poors Allotment Fund.
A community stalwart, Mr Rudrum also served on the Village Voice management board, and was a past chairman of the John Green Institute Hall Trustees.
He had been a widower since the death of his wife, Sandra, in 2012, and leaves one brother, Martyn.
Brian Swan, Belton with Browston village correspondent, said: 'John will be missed in the local community, we send our sympathy to Martyn and his family.'
