Have you ever wondered what 18,250 knitted flowers look like?

About 50 people had the chance to find out at a 'thank you' coffee morning at Wymondhanm's Fairland Church last week.

Dianne Fernee, Wymondham Dementia Support Group organiser, said the event was held in appreciation of everyone who helped knit or crochet the forget-me-nots in order to raise awareness of Norfolk's lack of dementia specialist 'admiral' nurses.

Mrs Fernee said: 'The hope now to display them in the city and at other venues in Norfolk to raise the profile of the admiral nurses.

'We want to use them for impact.' In December General Lord Dannatt, the former head of the British Army, lent his support to the campaign by knitting a forget-me-knot. The number of forget-me-nots exceeded the 17,000 originally planned to represent one for every person in Norfolk with dementia.
