A former school in Necton, near Swaffham, that has been closed for almost ten years could be demolished to make way for housing.

The old voluntary aided first school on School Road was closed in 2007 and merged with Necton VC Middle School.

Under the proposal submitted by the Necton Church and School Estate Trust the former school buildings could be demolished and replaced with 10 homes. The on-site swimming pool building will be kept for future use.

The charity had previously been granted permission to develop four homes on the site in March 2015.

The latest plans would mean the removal of a number of trees, which would later be replaced, while a large mature oak tree will be retained and made a principle feature at the site entrance.

The proposal is set to be discussed at the parish council's next meeting at 7.30pm on March 6 at Necton Community Centre.
