Members of the Centre Stage School of Dance, in Thetford, who competed in a dance exam for ballet and theatre craft were all graded merit or distinction.

For some of the 95 youngsters it was their first marked exam.

Kim Ritchie, who owns the dance school which is based at the Charles Burrell Centre, said: 'I am very proud of them. They got very good marks.'

The second achievement was the marks the dancers received for the acrobatic dance exams - which combines dance and acrobatic elements.

All 27 of the five to 15-year-olds were graded as excellent or superior - the two highest score levels.

The company who sets thee exam is based in Canada and the coach had travelled from there to mark the dancers.

Kacy Suffolk, 7, scored 153 out of 150, because she scored so highly on the skills her bonus skill took her above the mark threshold.

And Lia Wing, 7, scored 150 out of 150.

Mrs Ritchie, who has run the school for two years, added: 'It was incredible. With the 153 I had to email the company to see if it was possible.

'Kacy was a bit speechless when she found out.

'I was so proud of them and I called them up and told them all individually.'
