This year's Gorleston Competitive Festival has been declared a great success again with double the number of entries entertaining audiences.
The event lasted four days at Magdalen Way Methodist Church.
The first day saw children perform in the school choirs.
Along with Statement, the Lowestoft Choral then performed four part harmonies and Flegg High School also entertained with two very competent performances.
The instrumental day saw performances by recorder and guitar ensembles.
A first for the new festival venue were performances from two large ensembles, one from St Mary and St Peter's Catholic Primary school and then Great Yarmouth Music Schools Orchestra, both under the direction of Rachel Salton.
The day continued with performances from beginner instrumentalists playing guitars, violins, under the keen instruction of Lisa Bullen followed by woodwind.
The beginners and 'beyond beginners' piano was enjoyed by all.
The graded playing order gave everyone a sense of what the beginners are aiming for.
Lolo Wynans finished off the evening.
The festival continued with the River Island Folk Band followed by a more classical selection from the Shifting Sands String Quartet.
The church was then filled with the sound of singing from the older festival contestants.
The vocal solo day saw many children come from Ormesby Junior School under the direction of Lisa White-Joubert.
The festival committee were pleased to welcome students from St Felix School in Southwold.
Alison Corfield, who is the director of the Norfolk Schools Music Hub, visited the festival and adjudicated singing.
A spokesman for the event said: 'The committee's thanks goes to all the competitors in this year's festival, as they made the whole event a very enjoyable experience.'
The committee hopes next year will have a competitive art competition.
The committee festival says it is open to offers of financial support in order to keep the prestigious event running for the next 46 years and keeping music alive in Gorleston.
