Two arrests in Dereham this morning are part of a wider crackdown on a drug problem in the town, a police chief inspector has said.
Police executed five warrants in the Dereham area this morning and have seized quantities of class A drugs, cash and scales.
Chief inspector Paul Wheatley, district commander for Breckland, was unable to confirm the exact amounts at this stage.
One man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of class A drugs and another man has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering.
Both men are in police custody and are being questioned.
Chief insp Wheatley said: 'These arrests are part of an on-going drive to tackle a drug issue in Dereham.
'There are illegal drugs in every town but in Dereham we have been seeing an increase in crimes related to drugs, such as shoplifting.
'At the moment it is not a massive issue for Dereham, but I want to make sure it doesn't become one.
'I've worked in other areas where I have seen that happen and we are being proactive to make sure we can avoid that happening here.'
