Top of my list of must-see acts was Soweto Skeleton Movers. Their awe inspiring dance style is known as Pantsula. It originates in a kind of competitive showing-off engaged in by 1950's commuters as they jumped on and off moving trains.
Just Dance from South Korea brought in the dark side with a piece about the frailty of life. Their terrific and terrifying piece involved traditional drumming and gravity defying spins. The audience gasped as they flipped and flew with lightning accuracy.
Local acts Fly No Filter, Parallel Dance Studios, LEGACY and the Art of Breakin' held their own on this impressive international stage.
