A motorcyclist had a lucky escape this weekend after his bike smashed into the barrier during a Trackday at Snetterton Circuit, near Thetford.
Joshua Boyd, from Solihull, West Midlands, travelled to the Norfolk racing track on Saturday and was left unconscious after the bellypan of the yellow ZX10R bike in front of him fell off and made impact with his head at 140mph.
In a post on his Facebook page, Mr Boyd said: 'I was knocked unconscious immediately, allowing my body to fall back and drape off the side of the bike.
'Luckily, I have no memory of the incident, only that I had left pit lane and woke up in hospital with blurred vision coupled with seeing different colours in each eye.
'All I have is a totalled bike and some videos to put meaning to the mess - had I of stayed attached to the bike upon impact, I doubt I'd be sharing this with you now.'
He also thanked the fellow riders who pulled up and helped him after the incident.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help repair his bike by Becki Ward and asks people to support 'a very talented young rider'.
Mr Boyd is still in hospital with bruising and muscle pain.
