Houses were evacuated in a Suffolk market town after a bonfire re-ignited in the early hours of the morning.
Police said the bonfire was believed to have been put out at a property on Old Station Road, Halesworth, on Wednesday night.
But it caught fire again hours later and spread to nearby sheds and fences.
Three fire engines were called at 4.10am and several houses were evacuated for precautionary measures while crews tackled the out-of-control bonfire.
A spokesman for Suffolk fire service said the blaze spread to three sheds, some fencing and bushes.
There were no injuries or anyone trapped, police said, and the fire was extinguished by 5.15am.
A Suffolk Constabulary spokesman added: 'We were called to reports of sheds on fire. It is believed that a bonfire which someone had thought had been put out caught alight overnight and spread to fences and sheds.
'Police helped with the evacuation of a number of houses.'
There were no arrests and the incident is not being treated as suspicious.
