An application for permission to build 10 homes on the site of a former school in Necton has been rejected by Breckland Council planning officers.
The plans were refused planning permission on the grounds that there is not sufficient infrastructure to support them and it would cause over development of the site.
The Necton Church and School Estate Trust, the developers behind the application, proposed to demolish the former school buildings and replace them with 10 homes. But the plans attracted objections from local residents and the parish council.
In the decision notice, case officer Heather Byrne wrote: 'Ten dwellings would result in an over development and cramped form of development, out of keeping, and detrimental to, the character and appearance of the area and street scene as well as the amenity of surrounding residents and future occupiers.'
