It is a village that prides itself on its wonderful floral displays that have netted many an award over the years.
And now the community of Filby is gearing itself up for hopefully more in bloom success after a tour of the village by judges who certainly know their way around plants and flowers.
On Thursday the Filby in Bloom group showed off its merits to Anglia in Bloom judges David White and Nolan Mills who inspected a wide range of displays put forward for the best village section for a population under 1,000.
For the campaign 16,100 bedding plants have been planted and 120 hanging baskets have been put up.
As part of the tour the judges also visited Filby Primary School and were impressed by their cultivating efforts.
The Anglia In Bloom results will be revealed on September 14. Filby will be visited on August 1 by Britain in Bloom judges.
The judging route went past Ormesby Broad, Filby Broad and restaurant, the shop and post office, Thompson's Farm, Thrigby Road Corner, the playing field, the Village Hall, the Clay Pits Project, Filby Primary School, All Saints Church, the Village Pound, Filby Close and Mautby Road Corner.
The village entered the Anglia In Bloom competition for the first time in 1995, and after its initial success in 1997 has participated in the event every year since.
In 2015 it achieved gold medals and was voted Best Village in both Yarmouth in Bloom and Anglia in Bloom.
It has also represented the region at the Britain in Bloom competition several times.
