Work has started on solving problems around a Great Yarmouth kerb that has been labelled as a hazard to the public.
The kerb on the edge of a pavement in Regent Road has regularly seen people tripping over it and on some occasions injuring themselves.
On Monday a £,3000 Norfolk County Council scheme started with railings installed along the stretch of pavement edge from opposite the KFC to near Costa Coffee. By Thursday most of the work appeared to have been completed.
The funding was secured by Mick Castle, county councillor for Yarmouth and North, who said: 'The good news is that the safety barriers are finally being installed.
'I managed to get the finance in place to implement the scheme using my local highways budget.
'John Cotton, our local area engineer, has appraised traders concerning the work which should finally end the blight of unnecessary falls.'
