A planning application has been approved to change the former Colman's Mustard Shop and Museum into a restaurant.
An application was put forward in April for the venture by NT Property Nominees 1A Ltd And NT Property Nominees 1B Ltd.
The proposal, crafted on behalf of NT Property Nominees by Firstplan, calls to change the use of and combine three units within Norwich's Royal Arcade. These include Unit 15 (Colman's Mustard), Unit 16 (formerly The Tannery, a leather goods retailer) and Unit 16A which is vacant.
No tenant has been confirmed for the restaurant, but the application states that the client intends 'to secure a restaurant operator with a focus on a daytime offer to occupy the unit' as this will 'complement the existing Jamie's Italian restaurant, which generally has a stronger focus on its evening offer'.
Colman's Mustard Shop announced its closure in April. The business is set to reopen in a new city centre location before Christmas.
