The homeless have a new benefactor in a Holt woman who is visiting music festivals in the region to collect discarded bedding and clothes to keep people warm this winter.
Amanda Veal, who runs Little Star crafters in Holt, collected four carloads of bedding and clothes from the Sundown festival last year, which was distributed to the homeless in Norwich.
She's returning to this year's event in September, and said: 'Last year was a trail run and we barely scratched the surface. What was left behind and heading for landfill was astonishing.
'This year I am organising on a much larger scale. I will be at Sundown and Reload at the Norfolk Showground.
'Homeless organisations will be joining us at the festivals to talk to the kids about recreational drug use and how it can lead to homelessness. My target is to collect enough sleeping bags for the rough sleepers in Norwich and in our locality for this winter.'
