An ancient Norfolk landmark is preparing for the return of its popular Flint Festival.
The event at Grime's Graves, near Thetford, will celebrate the fascinating history of the only Neolithic flint mine in Britain which is open to visitors.
Families will join flint-knapper join Will Lord, as he tells of tales from prehistoric days and demonstrates why flint was so important and what it was used for.
Children will have the opportunity to try making sparks, creating string or even making an arrow head.
Guided tours will be on offer throughout the festival, which runs from 10am until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, August 5 and 6, and visitors will be able to explore deep underground (over 10-years-old only).
Rob Pyatt, acting site manager at Grime's Graves, said: 'We're delighted that our Flint Festival is returning to Grime's Graves for a second year running.
'Last year it was a one-day event but it proved to be so successful that we're running it on both Saturday and Sunday this year.
'After being such a great hit with visitors last summer, this year promises to be another event to remember for families, with lots of things to see and do across the weekend.'
Prices are £5.50 for adults, £3.20 for children and £5 for concessions.
