Rain failed to dampen spirits at an open-air concert to raise money for flood wardens in Walcott.
The North Walsham Salvation Army Community Band raised £185 for WEVA - Walcott Emergency Volunteer Association, which is believed to be the only independent group of flood wardens in the country - with the event on the seafront.WEVA secretary Sylvia Andrews said: 'We are absolutely delighted with the Salvation Army's interest in WEVA and extended a sincere thank you to them and to all the people who contributed.'
The band, which hosts monthly Songs of Praise meetings, was formed just over a year ago and is open to any brass or woodwind players.
Major Richard Durrant, commanding officer of the North Walsham Corps, said: 'Despite the light rain throughout, which got heavier towards the end, we managed to complete the open-air service, and many folks shared how they were blessed by it.'
The band's next Songs of Praise event - normally the last Sunday in the month - will be held at their hall in Hall Lane, North Walsham on Sunday, July 30, at 4pm.
