Halloween came early this year, when Wighton families were treated to a bat-tastic night at All Saints Church.
Over 130 parents and children took part in batty crafts and quizzes, before learning more about the furry flying creatures.
The 'Bat Night', held on Thursday July 27, was part of the national Bats in Churches project, and aimed to educate attendees about the nocturnal creatures, who often roost in churches and graveyards.
Bat expert, Philip Parker, explained how they use the church, setting up detectors, infra-red cameras and screens so families could watch them fly in the twilight.
Children got up close and personal with the winged wonders, and were interviewed by a CBBC Newsround crew, who filmed the evening's activities.
The event was part of All Saints 600th anniversary restoration project, and was funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).
The CBBC programme is expected to air in August.
