People got the chance to find out what bus travel through Norwich was like in years gone by when one of the city's bus companies opened up its depot for the first time.
First Eastern Counties opened up its depot in Roundtree Way as part of the inaugural Norwich Bus Bash on Sunday - which provided a boost for a very good cause.
The free event included trips on vintage buses, running every 10 minutes from the depot, which is off the ring road near Mousehold Heath, to the city centre.
The buses, from yesteryear, included vehicles dating back to the 1950s, some of which used to operate around the city years ago.
They were lent for the day by private owners and members of preservation groups.
At the depot, family friendly activities included guided tours, a live demonstration on how buses work, the chance to have photographs taken in a bus cab and a ride through a bus wash.
The depot recently saw a multi-million pound investment, increasing the number of buses that can be based there, but the public does not usually get the opportunity to see behind the scenes.
Steve Wickers, managing director of First Eastern Counties, said: 'People have been really enjoying the heritage bus trips, hopping on to go into the city and back.
'And I never thought people would be so interested in seeing how a bus gets washed. They have been queuing up for that and I've had to reassure some of them that they won't get wet.
'It's been a really good chance for people to see behind the scenes and to see the investment we have made, not just in buses, but on the depot.
'This has been an event about the community and showing that we provide a really important service and here's a look behind the scenes at how we do it.'
And while the event and the bus trips were free, people were invited to make donations for the East Anglia Children's Hospices' (EACH) nook appeal.
The appeal was launched two years ago to raise £10m for a new purpose-built hospice in Framingham Earl, which will replace the charity's Norfolk base at Quidenham.
