A man was found dead in a hotel close to Great Yarmouth seafront.
Stephen Charles White, 66, was found dead on August 20, at the Arona Hotel, on Sandown Road.
As an inquest into his death opened this morning Norfolk Coroner's Court, sitting in Norwich, heard Mr White was a retired store worker. And his address was given as the Arona Hotel, which is advertised as being situated near Britannia Pier and around 50 yards from the beach.
Area coroner Yvonne Blake said the hotel manager had found Mr White in the hotel bathroom. The medical cause of death was acute alcohol poisoning. A full inquest has been set for January 30, at 3pm, at Norfolk Coroner's Court.
The 2.5-star rated hotel was put up for sale last year. At the time, it was advertised as having 22 ensuite bedrooms and was on the market for £495,000 after the previous owners had run the business for 17 years.
