The Royal British Legion (RBL) is urgently looking for more volunteers to help with this year's Poppy Appeal.

Members of the Lowestoft and District branch of the RBL usually situate themselves across the town centre and in the area's main supermarkets for the appeal, which starts on October 28.

However, with a shortage of volunteers having offered their services, the branch is pleading for more people to come forward and give back to those who have served their country.

The RBL was formed in 1921 with the intention of providing lifelong support for members of the Armed Forces community, which includes helping with financial problems, easing mobility restraints and generally giving independence to those who require it.

Anyone looking to get involved with this year's appeal can visit the RBL drop-in centre at 4 Regent Road, Lowestoft, or call the centre on 01502 218668.

Alternatively, please contact general organiser Phil Turner on 07715673920 or Ian Gadsden on 07972114848.
