A number of village halls across north Norfolk are set to get a revamp, and a playground project a cash boost, thanks to Big Society Fund (BSF) grants totalling more than £36,800.
The September round of North Norfolk District Council BSF grants has seen the Paston playground project receive £15,000 towards new equipment, and Salthouse village hall awarded £12,150 to renovate the toilet and kitchen.
Meanwhile, Swafield village hall has received £2,923.20 towards connecting it to the mains sewage system, and Binham Memorial Hall, £6,756.75 to buy kitchen equipment to enable larger scale catering, including a commercial size dishwasher, hot food cupboard and stainless steel preparation tables.
Tom FitzPatrick, council leader and chairman of the BSF panel, said: 'The fund continues to create opportunities for a wide range of communities across the district to improve the facilities at the heart of their villages and towns.'
