Teresa Amoss, the organiser of Bell Bingo Buddies, who meet at the Bell Hotel in Mildenhall, wanted to do something with money which had been donated via the group.

After consulting her friends John and Julie Sanders, who are both bikers from Brandon, it was decided they would deliver the money to local organisations on their bikes.

More than 50 bikers on a variety of machines, including Harley Davidsons, took part in the charity run to deliver £525 to each of the charities, with money also collected by Mrs and Mrs Sanders and Ron Smith.

Onward Enterprises in Thetford, Empanda Care & Support in Brandon, Mildenhall Lodge, and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue all benefited from the event.

Mrs Sanders said: 'It was fantastic and it was just through people donating money.

'It is just a group of friends getting together and thinking we wanted to do something nice.

'We are already organising a date for next year and we are hoping as this went quite well that it will be bigger and better.'

With the money donated Mildenall Lodge have bought new garden furniture, Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue have got two new canoes and Empanda are using it to put towards entertainment.

Onward Enterprises is a packaging and fulfilment company and supported work environment for adults with learning difficulties and on the Autism spectrum.

Mrs Sanders has been delivering sandwiches to the organisation for 17 years with her business Julie's Rolls.

Onward Enterprises said they will use their donation to improve their training facilities at both their Thetford and Harleston site.

During the donation run, on Saturday, September 16, the organisation's staff and service users provided tea and biscuits to the bikers.

Onward Enterprises managing director Rachel Allum-sindall said: 'We were absolutely honoured to be nominated by Julie for this.

'We were extremely proud and thrilled.

'It means a lot to use. It was thrilling to hear the roar of the bikes and see them coming around the corner.'
