A former Anglia TV presenter has been handed the job of turning on the Christmas lights in Norwich.
Helen McDermott, who has also worked for Mustard TV and Radio Norwich, will push the button outside City Hall on Thursday.
She follows in the footsteps of Ed Balls and Tanya Burr.
The switch on will the highlight in an evening of festive activities in the city which start at 6pm, when Santa's parade leaves Norwich Cathedral. It will arrive at Lloyds Bank at 6.30pm.
There will also be 'Reindeers on Stilts', the festive snowball throw and a performance from Hellesdon and Sprowston Brass Band before the lights are switched on at 7pm.
This will be followed by the fireworks display from City Hall's balcony and the rooftop of Jarrolds and the giant projection on Norwich Castle.
Alan Waters, leader of the council, said: 'It's always great to see the city in such a fun and festive mood.'
