Store workers have banded together to raise money for a teenager living with disabilities after his bike was stolen and vandalised.
Tobias Hill, 17, had his specialised bike stolen while he was out with his family enjoying a fireworks display in his home village of Bracon Ash, near Wymondham.
He was born with a unique chromosome condition which means he has limited movement, so the bike is fitted with a seat on the front.
Chris Hill, Tobias' father, found the bike but the seat had been damaged.
Now, the Central England Co-operative is holding a week of fundraising events to help the youngster with a one-in-a-billion chromosome condition.
The team at Mulbarton Food Store, in Cuckoofield Lane, decided to raise money to help repair or replace the bike after the story was reported in this newspaper.
Mr Hill said he was 'humbled' by the store's fundraising.
He said: 'It is very nice to have people want to help. It is all about Tobias and trying to get him back on the bike.
'It can be hard to accept help but knowing that people have come forward and want to help someone who is disabled is really lovely.'
Mr Hill is looking at the possibilities of how the bike can be repaired or replaced.
Store manager Jamie Twell said: 'Everyone at Mulbarton Food Store was shocked to hear what had happened to Tobias and his bike.
'We take our role as a retailer in the heart of the community seriously and knew straight away that we wanted to help out.'
The store will be hosting a range of fundraising events, including guess the amount of sweets in a jar and making a Christmas tree decoration competition.
Mr Twell added: 'Tobias loves his bike and it is the only way that he can get out and about with his father Chris.
'So we are hosting a week-long fund-raising event to help raise some cash to pay to either repair or replace his bike.'
