It has supported generations of pupils but after more than 25 years the carpet at a South Norfolk school has been replaced.
With a visit from an MP looming the carpet in the hallway at the Kenninghall Pre-School was wearing thin.
John Doe Carpets and Furniture in Diss was able to step in to donate a new piece of flooring to the school which is also a registered charity.
Chairman of the pre-school, Hedi Glendenning, said: 'In preparation of our visit from Elizabeth Truss we were doing a tidy up day when we noticed the carpet was in a bad state.
'We spoke to John Doe of Diss and they said of course they could give us a new mat. We are currently fundraising for a new building so any way we can save money is amazing. They ordered the correct size mat and even gave us a door mat all for free.'
