Ramblers can take advantage of free guided walks from Norfolk and Suffolk rail stations on Sundays throughout the year, starting later this month.

The walks are organised by the Bittern and Wherry Lines Community Rail Partnerships and are free to train ticket holders.

All walks start from a Greater Anglia station with the first taking place on Sunday, January 21 in Haddiscoe.

The walks, via quiet country lanes, woodlands, pretty villages and north Norfolk's spectacular coastline, depart from stations including Buckenham, Brundall, Roughton Road, Haddiscoe, Sheringham and Somerleyton, and cover between three and seven miles each. Dogs are welcome on the walks and on Greater Anglia services.

Paul Haynes, Greater Anglia's Community Rail Partnerships manager, said: 'This is a great opportunity for people to stay healthy, get some fresh air, and explore Norfolk and Suffolk.'

A leaflet detailing every walk is available from Norwich railway station or online at www.bitternline.com or www.wherrylines.com
