Highways staff, farmers and contractors who went over and above during the recent snowstorms in Norfolk are to be recognised by Norfolk County Council.
Members of the council's highways winter maintenance team, including a gritter driver, excavator driver and fitter, and a farmer have been invited to attend the start of the council's environment, development and transport committee.
Chairman Martin Wilby will recognise their 'extraordinary' efforts with a short speech.
The council fleet of 49 gritter trucks were in almost continuous use between Monday, February 26 and Sunday, March 4, gritting roads, clearing snow and helping to free stranded motorists, supported by contractors and around 80 farmers who are under contract to help clear roads during extreme weather.
It is estimated that highways staff worked an additional 7,500 hours during this seven day period.
