Norfolk's own Peter Rabbit had to be rescued in Watton after it had become stuck in a fireplace.

A fire crew from Watton station was called to free the bunny which had managed to sneak its way into the property in Dale Close, off of the Norwich Road.

The small animal had become distressed after getting itself stuck at 1.08pm today and could not be freed by the residents.

The crew arrived at 1.48pm and were on the site for 17 minutes using small hand equipment to free the bunny before releasing it into the wild.

The bunny was unharmed and is back out searching for more carrots.
