A motorist was caught speeding at 120mph on the A11 in the early hours of this morning.
The vehicle was stopped by police officers in an unmarked car at 3.19am after been recorded driving at high speed on the dual carriageway near Wymondham. The speed limit on the section of road is 70mph.
In a Tweet South Norfolk Police said: 'Vehicle stopped earlier today after it overtook an unmarked police car at 120mph on the A11 at Wymondham. The driver has been reported.'
Police in Norfolk recently targeted speeding drivers as part of a week-long enforcement campaign.
The Europe-wide campaign, co-ordinated by TISPOL, the European Traffic Police Network, saw an increased amount of checks and enforcement across the county.
Chief Inspector Kris Barnard, head of the joint Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing Unit, said: 'Speeding is one of the 'fatal four' offences which makes you more likely to be killed or seriously injured in a collision - alongside drink driving, driving whilst using a mobile phone and not wearing a seatbelt.'
