We may still be clinging to the sunny summer weather but autumn is upon us and Christmas not too far around the corner and now details have been confirmed for the festive lights switch-on in Diss.
Diss is the place to be for all your Christmas shopping and entertainment with the grand lights switch-on in the Market Place taking place at on Saturday, November 23.
The brightly lit vintage fire engine from Bressingham Steam Museum will deliver Santa along Mere Street to the Diss Market Place for the 5.15pm switch-on.
Thousands attended the family event last year and there will again be no shortage of festive delights on offer in the heart of Diss from 2.30pm-6pm.
The Diss Corn Hall panto cast from Robin Hood will be mingling with the crowds before joining the lights switch-on, while the packed programme of activities and entertainment also includes magician Ali Shazam and a Fun Fair at Mere Mouth. You can also meet Santa during the afternoon in his grotto.
Live music performers will include Joe Aiken, Groovapolitan, Ramblers Celidh Band, Ellen Fairey and carol singing from local school children to get you in the Christmas Spirit.
As always, Park Radio will be hosting the event and keeping you informed from start to finish while playing the festive tunes.
There will be plenty of seasonal things to eat and drink too available during the event.
Tickets for the Christmas Raffle for a chance to win a variety of prizes will be available for £1 on the day or in advance from Diss Town Council Offices on Market Hill.
