Council officers will continue to monitor the coastal path at Happisburgh after a large section of it fell away over the weekend.
Humber Coastguard received a call from a member of the public at about noon on Saturday, December 9 to say there had been 'substantial' cliff erosion in Beach Road.
Officers from North Norfolk District Council (NNDC) visited the site and closed off the affected areas. They will keep monitoring the location before deciding on the appropriate next steps.
A spokesman for NNDC said: 'The impact of the erosion is disappointing, but not unexpected considering there have been winter storms and a period of low beach levels.
'We will monitor the condition of the ramp, the weather and beach levels in the coming days. If those conditions allow, we would intend to recut the ramp before Christmas. It may be that conditions mean this work cannot be carried out until the New Year.'
