A robber with his face covered threatened staff with an unknown object before stealing cash from a north Norfolk post office.
Police are appealing for information following the incident in Mundesley yesterday morning (9).
Two staff members suffered minor injuries during the incident.
A Norfolk police spokesman said: 'A man with his face covered entered the post office on High Street shortly before 6am and threatened staff with an unknown small object wrapped in what's believed to be a black bin-bag before making off with a small quantity of cash.
'Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area at the time of the robbery. They are particularly appealing for anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage which may have captured the suspect to come forward.'
The store was cordoned off by police in the morning and the shop was closed.
A customer, who did not wish to be named, said: 'I came to buy my paper in the morning and was told that the robber had been waving a plastic bag. They did not know what was inside it so they had to do what he said.'
Another resident, who also wished to remain anonymous, said: 'Everyone's bewildered and shocked. You don't expect something like this to happen in Mundesley.'
People in the village have also taken to social media to express their shock.
Marie Greer said: 'Oh no, what dreadful news. It's always something you imagine happening somewhere else.'
Deb Hartland added: 'Oh no, such bad news. Hope everyone is okay. Not the first time something has happened at the post office.'
Jane Brown said: 'Hope Dennis and his wife are okay.'
Anne Downes said: 'How sad. Not expected in lovely Mundesley. Hope nobody hurt.'
The offender was described as being white, approximately 6ft tall and medium to stocky build. He was wearing a blue hoody with a blue shiny jacket over the hoody, dark jogging style trousers and white trainers.
