For 30 years, it has provided a bridge between two towns separated by the North Sea.
And now a group from Sheringham is planning a visit to Otterndorf in Germany to mark the anniversary of the towns' twinning association.
Members of the Sheringham-Otterndorf Twinning Association will go to Otterndorf - which is near Hamburg on the North Sea coast - at the end of August for a five-night stay.
The group will be joined by two members from the Lions Club, who hope to start a partnership with the Lions in Otterndorf.
Otterndorf's Bürgermeister (mayor) came to Sheringham earlier in June to take part in the Poppyline Marathon and met his Sheringham counterpart, Madeleine Ashcroft.
If anyone is interested in joining the twinning group or any past members who would like to renew friendships, call Evelyn Meakin on 01263 823818.
