Youngsters also enjoyed a visit from Norfolk Children's Book Centre, decorated their classroom doors with scenes from their chosen books, took part in a 'reading buddies' session and had a chance to meet award-winning writer and illustrator James Mayhew, who drew a picture for each class.
Year 4 teacher Alex Snadden, who sent photographs of his class's costumes to their chosen author, Steven Butler, to be judged, organised the week-long series of events with his fellow literacy lead Suzanne McCaig.

'There are so many great writers out there for children to discover,' Mr Snadden said. 'We wanted to promote a love of reading and the children have all really got involved and have absolutely loved it.'
