A special school perched close to the site of a recent cliff fall plans to build a new vocational studies workshop.
Sidestrand Hall School, which is entering its 70th anniversary year, will use the building to teach woodwork to its pupils.
A statement made with the planning application to North Norfolk District Council reads: "The school has grown in numbers significantly from 105 to 183 pupils.
"This means that we now are short of physical space for some areas of learning, particularly practical facilities."
On June 12 following days of heavy rain a massive cliff fall saw tonnes of dirt and mud crash onto Sidestrand beach, right in front of the school.
Sarah Young, the school's headteacher, told this newspaper last week assessments had been carried out and she was not "unduly worried" about the school's safety.
The new workshop would be build on the side of the school grounds farthest away from the cliffs, next to the new sixth form block off Cromer Road.
