A beautiful bench featuring a fox and an owl has been donated to a north Norfolk school in tribute to a former pupil.
Sally Wilson Town donated the bench so there would also be something at Kelling Primary School in memory of her mother, Joan Gray, nee Lee, who died recently aged 93.
Mrs Gray was born in Kelling and went to the school, and from the age of 14 lived in School House - which is now the office and staff room - with her family. Her mother, Nora Lee, was the first cook at the school and was also the cleaner/caretaker. Mrs Gray joined her mum to work in the kitchen until she married and moved to Holt.
Head teacher, Mary Dolan, said: "She never lost her love for Kelling and talked a lot about the school and School House.
"The children came up with the idea of a carved bench and chose a fox and an owl to be part of the design."
Carver Andy Barton created the bench.
