Marco Stiepermann pledges Norwich City will find their scoring touch at Carrow Road.

The German powerhouse hit the bar and was denied by a point blank save from Scott Carson in a frustrating 2-1 Championship defeat to Derby County at the weekend.

Stiepermann admits Daniel Farke’s squad must raise their game in the final third ahead of Tuesday’s home league tussle against promotion-chasing Wolves.

“We are Norwich City and we are a massive club,” he said. “We want to win every game so, for me, it is not important who is the opponent.

“We were disappointed to lose against Derby but we can be proud of the unbeaten run and now we can start a new one.

“You could say it was unlucky but I should score. I took a look to the referee hoping he would say it is a goal.

“In this moment you are disappointed but you want to give more and more for the next chance.

“I gave the assist for Timm (Klose) to score and I was happy for that. When you look at the last nine games, we’ve conceded four goals. That’s been our main strength but now we have to score more.

“We created enough chances but we have to take them, like with my situations (against Derby). In this league, the team who scores first mostly wins. When we score first, we win every game so this is important.”

The versatile Stiepermann, 26, is loving life in Norfolk with his young family and relishing the heavy workload after moving from Vfl Bochum in the summer.

“I like it here. My family like it here as well. The people are really nice. We are very happy,” he said. “In the beginning it was not so easy for me because my wife was pregnant and she stayed in Germany. I travelled a lot.

“Now they are here and it makes everything a little bit easier. We have had a boy and his name is Leonard.

“To play every four days is everything you want; in Germany we call weeks like that an ‘English week’. This is why I wanted to play here.

“It is a lot of fun. It’s not important who we play.

“It’s my first time playing full-back and I like it. Normally I’m an offensive player and I feel like I was born to score goals.

“I started as a striker and played often in midfield last season, but the coach wanted to try something. Now I have to improve my work in defence because it’s a new position.”
