Actors, mime artists and mask makers are being sought for a ‘mystery play’ as part of a new arts initiative.

Photographers, filmmakers, musicians, costume designers and technical and backstage talent are also wanted for the June show.

The newly-formed North Norfolk Arts Cooperative plans to stage the show at All Saint’s Church in Briston, incorporating live music, film sequences, acting and masked mime.

Charlie Dearden, event organiser, said: “We are all retired folk who have a wealth of experience in arts, culture, community development, youth work, marketing, event planning and management, business and financial planning. Our aim is to encourage people to become more actively involved in arts, culture and heritage projects and events, especially young people as they are not getting the same opportunities that we had at school to develop their imagination and their creative skills.”

James Ramsay, event co-organiser, said: “The project entirely depends on the skills and gifts of those who we hope will get involved. It’s all quite ambitious and exciting.”

The first public meetings for anyone interested in learning more will take place on Saturday, March 16 10.30am and Monday, March 18 at 7.30pm at Briston’s Pavilion.
