The first of several expected January loan deals for Norwich City youngsters has been announced, with defender Rocky Bushiri’s return to the Belgian top flight confirmed.
The Belgium Under-21 international was recently recalled from a League One stint with Blackpool and will spend the remainder of the season with Sint-Truidense - who are also nicknamed the Canaries.
The 20-year-old central defender's loan switch was initially reported on Friday and has been confirmed by City this morning.
Sint-Truidense are in mid-table in the Jupiler Pro League, where Bushiri played regularly last season while on loan from KV Oostende making 31 appearances.
Bushiri made just six appearances for Blackpool but has seven international caps at U21 level, helping Belgium to win 3-2 in Germany last month to remain top of their qualifying group for the 2021 European U21 Championship.
The youngster signed a four-year contract when he joined City last summer. A statement confirming the deal concluded: "Everyone at Norwich City wishes Rocky the very best for the remainder of the campaign ahead."
Bushiri has been recalled alongside Irish winger Simon Power, who saw limited action with Scottish Premiership side Ross County, and more loan arrangements are expected among City's development squad this month.
