Parents are being given their first glimpse of what a new £7m primary school for Great Yarmouth could look like.
Display boards are travelling between Alderman Swindell and North Denes primary schools showing various views of the new two-storey building set to replace both schools.
The plans show a rectangular block enclosed by a 2.4m high perimeter fence.
Inside the layout reveals a mix of classrooms, unisex toilets, and a ‘heart space/library.’
The proposal to close both schools and build a new one on the North Denes site has divided the community and seen both sides take up positions.
An action group formed at Alderman Swindell pulled out all the stops to oppose the plan championing what was especially effective in a small school, organising a protest march, and launching a legal challenge.
The scheme has yet to gain formal permission from the planning authority.
Alderman Swindell is due to shut at the end of the summer term.
