Police and the fire service have confirmed there has been no evidence of a plane crash following reports this afternoon.
A call was made to Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service at 1.52pm by a person who saw a low flying air plane near Elveden.
Smoke had been reported in a wooded area and an area of heather was burning.
Six crews, from Thetford, Woodbridge, Bury St Edmunds, Brandon and Newmarket, were sent to the scene.

A Suffolk Fire Service spokesman said at 3.45pm: “A full search has been carried out using appliances on the ground and a drone in the air as well as police.
“No evidence has been found of a plane crash.”
A search was carried out in a wooded area using a fire service drone.
