From historic boats to delicious baked treats, there was plenty for visitors to enjoy at the Beccles River Festival.

More than 1,000 people attended the two-day event which celebrated the region's rivers and their natural beauty.

The festival which took place on Saturday and Sunday was hosted at Hippersons Boatyard in Gillingham.

Mary Sparrow, who co-owns Hippersons alongside her husband, Simon, was delighted with how well the festival went.

She said: "It went really well.

"There's no better place to be than down by the river on a sunny summer's day.

"The festival had something for everyone and we had people come from as far as Liverpool for it which was great."

Visitors were given the opportunity to climb aboard a number of historic crafts including the Wherry Maud and the award-winning Countess of Light.

The MTB 102 - one of the last surviving motor torpedo boats to have served in the Second World War - also proved to be very popular.

People were also treated to a host of live music on both days, with performances from The Oulton Broads and Buchanan and Dutch.
