David Brown, of Burgh St Peter, has been selling an assortment of cakes, chutneys, and savouries for 10 years in aid of the veteran support charity.

Mr Brown said he is £7500 short of his goal to raise £100,000 for the charity, which looks after service personnel suffering with physical and mental disabilities.

In July this year the baker took a £14,366 cheque to the charity, who he began fundraising for on Armed Forces Day in 2009.

Mr Brown and his late wife, Pat, have raised more than £90,000 since then. They were inspired to do so by their daughter, Sally William, who served in the army for 24 years.

Mr Brown will be at Exchange Square in Beccles from 8am until 2pm on Saturday September 14.

He said: "I will have all the usual cakes and chutneys, I'll be there until we've sold out."
