On Saturday, September 21, the town council and members of the community met to officially commemorate the opening of the tables.

The tables have been made possible thanks to a wider partnership between Table Tennis England and Suffolk County Council led Most Active County Partnership.

The launch of the tables will see a series of activities and events being held over the next few months to raise awareness of and make the most of the availability of this new resource to Bungay.

All tables will have unrestricted access for anyone to use at anytime.

Sue Collins, mayor of Bungay, said: "I am delighted that Bungay is part of the PING project and it is great to be involved in bringing something new to the town."

Table Tennis England added: "Ping! is built around the simple concept of taking ping pong to the places people already spend time, removing the barriers to participation and making the game more visible, accessible and relevant than ever before."
