A Suffolk special constable will have his case heard at crown court after pleading not guilty to disclosing personal data without consent.
Robert Beare, 48, of Morton Road, Lowestoft, is accused of knowingly disclosing the data – contrary to sections 55 and 60 of the Data Protection Act 1998 - between May 6 and May 13 of last year.
Beare, the operations manager for Lowestoft Marina, was formally suspended from the Suffolk Police force in January this year (2016) – and not as previously reported.
He appeared before South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court in Ipswich last week to enter his not guilty plea and opted for a crown court trial.
District Judge Celia Dawson sent the case to Ipswich Crown Court where his next hearing will take place on March 22. He is on unconditional bail.
