Ofsted inspectors have given Roydon Primary School a glowing report following their latest visit.

They found it to be an enterprising school that provides a consistently good standard of education. Good leadership and management are at the heart of the school's success, and there is very positive atmosphere where pupils are praised and their contributions valued. The children's writing was considered a "success story", and their community involvement "outstanding".

Headteacher Andy Parris, described as an experienced head who leads the school very well, with high expectations of staff and pupils, said he was absolutely delighted with the report:

"It's very heartening to get recognition for the things we do so well. This is a good school where children enjoy learning. Everyone works together very well, for the benefit of the children. This helps to create a feelgood factor that you can sense the minute you walk through the door. "

The report noted only two areas for further improvement, both of which are already being addressed by the school. These were: to give more opportunities to key stage 2 pupils to develop advanced reading skills, and to make sure that assessments made when children start school give them enough time to settle in.
