A motorist attempted to abduct a woman in Norwich after she refused his offer of a lift. The incident happened at about 11.30pm on December 11 in Aylsham Road in the Mile Cross area.

A motorist attempted to abduct a woman in Norwich after she refused his offer of a lift.

The incident happened at about 11.30pm on December 11 in Aylsham Road in the Mile Cross area.

The victim, who in her early 30s, was waiting at the bus stop outside Mecca Bingo when she was approached by a man who asked her if she wanted a lift home. She declined, but he grabbed her from behind and began to pull her towards his blue Rover Metro. She struggled and kicked the offender causing him to fall to the ground so she could escape.

The man was white, of large, muscular build, and in his early 50s to 60s. He was about 5ft 4ins tall with a full head of curly brown collar-length hair. He was described as scruffy-looking with a stubbly beard and was wearing black denim jeans and a black coat with cream sleeves.
