Council bosses are to be quizzed on why almost £300m of improvements to roads and buildings across Norfolk have not been carried out.
Over the past year, Norfolk County Council has built up a backlog of maintenance work, with schools, roads, libraries, farms and other properties neglected as officers prioritise to cope with the authority's funding crisis.
It would take £284m to complete the work, with the largest chunk, almost £152m, on roads maintenance.
Earlier this month, the cabinet asked to be kept up to date with the situation. But now the cabinet scrutiny committee has asked for more details.
Chairman Irene Macdonald and vice-chairman Barbara Hacker have asked the director of finance, the portfolio holder and other senior officers to attend a meeting on Tuesday.
They plan to ask about the accuracy of the £284m costs, taking into account inflation and other factors not accounted for in a previous report.
